Charity blames invaders for Iraq 'health disaster'
arah Left and agencies
Tuesday November 30, 2004
The US-led war in Iraq has created a healthcare disaster in a country where 20 years of war, mismanagement and sanctions had already left public health in a fragile state, a UK-based medical charity said today.
Medact reported that the health of Iraq's people had deteriorated since the 2003 invasion, both as a direct result of violence and through the collapse of medical facilities, public health provision and essential infrastructure such as water supplies. The report specifically blamed the tactics of the US-led occupying forces for exacerbating the country's health problems, particularly the decision to sideline the UN, which has traditionally handled humanitarian relief efforts.
Medact cited a nationwide survey of nearly 1,000 Iraqi households, published in the Lancet, as evidence that the war had caused around 100,000 deaths since the US and British invasion in April 2003. (more...)

Amy Goodman Interviews Jesse Jackson on Election Recount
By Democracy Now!, Rush Transcript
AMY GOODMAN: Reverend Jesse Jackson, what have you been doing in Ohio?
Why do you feel that a recount could change the outcome of the presidential election?
JESSE JACKSON: Well, this is November 30 -- 28 days later and the election has not been certified. The judge will not order a recount because there has not yet been a count. Therefore, we need a full and thorough federal investigation. For example, in the spring of the year, a provisional ballot, you could vote any place in the county. By September, by November, Secretary of State had shifted it to you only vote in the precinct, and with some precincts changing, it created big frustrations. So 155,000 ballots haven’t still been counted. There are many thousands not yet processed -- overcount and undercount. You have a case in Warren, Ohio where they declared a Homeland Security alert. I mean no building in Warren is over three stories high, yet they locked out the press and independent observers. Another case that I found to be astounding which I am sure Cliff can talk about, is a black woman, Ellen Connally ran for state Supreme Court judge. In Cuyahoga County, in Cleveland where she is best known, Kerry got 170,000 more votes. Elsewhere in the state, around Hamilton County, Cincinnati, Butler, Clermont, where she is least well-known, she got 190,000 more votes than Kerry. Now, that smells. We need a thorough investigation with forensic computer experts to see were there any tampering in those machines where there's no ability to do an audit trail. Then we need to consider the recount. We first need to have a count. (more...)

Election Angst Update: Clark Kent Vs the Media Wimps
November 23, 2004
by Maureen Farrell
"The greatest threat to truth today may well be from my profession." -- Legendary reporter Carl Bernstein
It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. While some in the mainstream media were finally paying attention to an important story as it was unfolding (rather than waiting three years, ala the New York Times), others were taking the usual safe and tired tact.
It all started on Monday, Nov. 7, when, inspired by a Cincinnati Enquirer story on how Warren County Ohio officials had "locked down" the administration building on election night and restricted open access to the vote count there, Keith Olbermann began reporting on voting irregularities across the country. "We have heard the message on the Voting Angst and will continue to cover it with all prudent speed," Olbermann later wrote on his blog, and sure enough, Countdown with Keith Olbermann doled out nightly nuggets -- not only concerning Votergate, but regarding the media itself. This exchange between Olbermann and Craig Crawford was especially satisfying: (more...)

The Doll That Commemorates "Mission Accomplished"

Bush's air craft carrier stunt took place in May of 2003 where he proclaimed "mission accomplished" with a massive banner saying such behind him during his speech on the air craft carrier. After this speech/stunt hundreds upon hundreds of American troops died in battle in Iraq and thousands upon thousands of Iraqi people would have died as well (including countless amounts of civilians). Amazing that this doll is for sale in America. KB Toys link
Bush sends our troops into harms way pre-emptively for a war based at it's very essence on lies and deceit and then has a doll released honoring him and his disgraceful stunt?
What many parents will neglect to tell their kids about this man is the fact that he was AWOL. Otherwise known as a "chickenhawk". Click Here
Can you imagine the amount of American kids that will have watched this disgraceful clown on their television sets for eight straight years before he is out of office (unless impeached)? For the parents out there who are naive or ignorant and think George is just a swell guy and do not guide their children about what a disgrace this man is.. well we are looking at a massively screwed up and upcoming generation waiting in the wings..
All my opinions,

'Stinking Evidence' of Possible Election Fraud Found in Florida
November 18, 2004
There was something odd about the poll tapes.
A "poll tape" is the phrase used to describe a printout from an optical scan voting machine made the evening of an election, after the machine has read all the ballots and crunched the numbers on its internal computer. It shows the total results of the election in that location. The printout is signed by the polling officials present in that precinct/location, and then submitted to the county elections office as the official record of how the people in that particular precinct had voted. (Usually each location has only one single optical scanner/reader, and thus produces only one poll tape.) ... (more)

Ship Of Fools
We're setting sail to the place on the map
From which no one has ever returned
Drawn by the promise of the joker and the fool
And by the light of the crosses that burn
Drawn by the promise of the women and the lace
And the gold and the cotton and pearls
It's the place where they keep all the darkness you need
You sail away from the light of the world on this trip baby
You will pay tomorrow
You're gonna pay tomorrow, yeh
You will pay tomorrow
Oh oh, save me, save me from tomorrow
I don't want to sail with this ship of fools
Oh, save me, save me from tomorrow
I don't want to sail with this ship of fools
I want to run and hide- right now
Avarice and greed
are gonna drive you over the endless sea
They will leave you drifting in the shallows
Or drowning in the oceans of history
Traveling the world, you're in search of no good
But I'm sure you'll build your Sodom
like you knew you would
Using all the good people for your galley slaves
As your little boat struggles through the warning waves
But you don't pay
You will pay tomorrow
You're gonna pay tomorrow, yeh,
You're gonna pay tomorrow oh
Oh oh save me, save me from tomorrow
I don't want to sail with this ship of fools
Oh oh save me, save me from tomorrow
I don't want to sail with this ship of fools
Where's it coming from. Oh where's it going to?
It's just a ship of fools
All aboard......

FALLUJAH, Iraq, Nov. 15 -- Even the dogs have started to die, their corpses strewn among twisted metal and shattered concrete in a city that looks like it forgot to breathe.
The aluminum shutters of shops on the main highway through town have been transformed by the force of war into mangled accordion shapes, flat, sharp, jarring slices of metal that no longer obscure the stacks of silver pots, the plastic-wrapped office furniture, the rolls of carpet. These things would be for sale, except there are no traders, no customers, hardly any people at all in the center of Fallujah. (more...)

Bush Flips Off Camera (Short Video)
This is from Bush's last term as Governor of Texas if I'm not mistaken. Very hard to believe this man is President today. This would have been long after the fact that Bush claimed he was a born again Christian. And he calls himself a "moral" man? Many exit polls from the recent election seem to insinuate that Bush won because of his morals. It's highly doubtful anybody that voted for him on those grounds looked behind his proverbial curtain of Oz. Link below shows just one of the countless examples of Bush showing himself to be a moral man (not).

Europe leaders lavish with faint praise

November 05, 2004
GEORGE Bush's closest allies in Europe greeted his re-election as a boost to the war on Islamic extremism but most European leaders barely managed to conceal the sense of disappointment they shared with most of the public across the continent.
While Tony Blair led the congratulations for his closest international ally, London tabloid the Daily Mirror carried a front-page headline that better captured the reaction of the British Prime Minister's own Labour Party and most British voters.

My Predictions- Financial Matters
While I have been as anonymous as possible within this blog by choice I will say that I have a very extensive knowledge of the financial markets (primarily the U.S. market).
The last four years we have witnessed a President and a congress controlled by his party allowed to essentially loot the government coffers by passing various bills and such that amount to a truly staggering amount of money being spent. Our national deficit has also been run up the last four years at a trajectory never seen by any country in history. In addition the amount of pork being attached to so-called homeland security and/or defense spending is mind boggling to date. This activity can only be described as "UNPATRIOTIC LOOTING OF THE GOVERNMENT COFFERS".
It will be future generations that will be responsible for paying the bill for these men/women that have looted this money. Call it the greatest transfer of wealth in history. The ones taking it are the ones becoming filthy rich. The ones that will pay the tab are future generations.
The stock market hates uncertainty. The U.S. stock market rallied impressively the day after the election on uncertainty being lifted and as the knee-jerk mentality that Bush is better for the stock market. The market may even rally more or less between now and the rest of the year, but will have a very, very serious problem from 2005 forward in my opinion. There was a lot of grease in the system the past year which is common before an election. That grease will go away. As the stock market can now take it's focus off of who will be the next President it will now focus on the two other most important issues.
1. The mushrooming deficit in conjunction with lower taxes.
2. The Iraq war and the insane amount of money being spent on it with no end in sight.
The general consensus on Wall street has been that Bush would be better for the stock market and the economy. But nothing could be further from the truth and the masses usually get it wrong anyway. For example; at the very top of the stock market bubble in 2000 nearly every brokerage firm on Wall street were recommending their clients to get into technology stocks. Contrarian investors already know that Bush is bad for the stock market and the economy going forward. Especially when you consider that we continue to have a Republican controlled congress. There is absolutely no/zero/nada checks and balances in place to control their wishes to spend spend spend going forward and there is absolutely no need for them to worry about fiscal responsibility unless there is a financial crisis in the future which forces them to pay attention to our fiscal problems in this country.
A crash of the dollar or simply a major stock market crash in the next four years may force them to deal with the problem. The Republicans in power currently are not traditional conservative Republicans which use to stand for lower spending and smaller government. The current Republicans in power are neo conservatives (NEO CONS) and they stand for massive, runaway, out of control, no end in sight spending and massively bigger government. Special interests run amok within the inner circles of the party and many feel they reside in the current administration's back pocket.
Grid-lock is what's best for the stock market and the economy in general. We have the opposite of that now however and I see absolutely no way the stock market or the economy has a chance of doing well in 2005. Some of the better minds on Wall street feel that we are currently in a secular bear market (macro-trend). The stock market rally we've seen since October of 2002 is simply a cyclical bull market (micro-trend) within an overall secular bear. Secular bear markets generally tend to last 10- 20 years. Within secular bear (or bull for that matter) markets there are always cyclical bull and bear markets which alternate between one another and generally last on average 1-3 years each respectively.
I believe soon we begin the next cyclical bear market within the overall secular bear market in the stock market.
As all humans can be, I may be wrong.
Time tells all.
J.O.
IF YOU VOTED FOR BUSH ODDS ARE YOU ARE IGNORANT, NAIVE AND MISINFORMED!!!!!
BECAUSE IF YOU DISGRACEFUL UNPATRIOTIC TRAITORS TO THE U.S.A. KNEW WHAT WAS REALLY GOING ON WITH YOUR GOVERNMENT MOST OF YOU WOULD HAVE NEVER VOTED FOR HIM.
I'M TYPING IN ALL CAPS FOR A REASON. CONSIDER IT SHOUTING!
FOR THE LIFE OF ME I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW DOWNRIGHT STUPID WHAT APPEARS TO BE ALMOST EXACTLY HALF OF THIS COUNTRY'S VOTING BASE! WHAT IN GOD'S NAME WERE YOU IDIOTS THINKING? HAVE YOU PEOPLE LOST YOUR MINDS? MOST OF YOU WILL REALIZE WHAT A HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE MISTAKE YOU MADE BEFORE THE NEXT FOUR YEARS ARE UP, BUT WHAT WILL THE WORLD LOOK LIKE AFTER BUSH GETS FOUR MORE YEARS IN OFFICE? WHAT WILL THIS COUNTRY LOOK LIKE? WHAT WILL IT FINALLY TAKE FOR YOU IDIOTS TO FINALLY SEE WHAT THIS MADMAN IS ALL ABOUT? WILL WE EVEN BE A DEMOCRACY AFTER FOUR MORE YEARS OF BUSH? HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE WILL HAVE DIED OVER BUSH'S LIES AND DECEIT?
NEVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE HAVE I BEEN MORE ASHAMED OF HOW MY COUNTRY VOTED FOR ANY CANDIDATE IN OUR ENTIRE HISTORY AS A VERY VERY SLIGHT MAJORITY OF THEM HAVE APPEARED TO HAVE VOTED NOVEMBER 2, 2004
A MAJORITY OF THE WORLD HATES BUSH. IT MATTERS WHAT OUR ALLIES THINK OF OUR PRESIDENT AS MUCH AS THE TOUGH GUYS CLAIM OTHERWISE IN THIS COUNTRY. EVEN THOUGH A MAJORITY OF THE WORLD HATES BUSH THEY REALIZE WE COULD HAVE NEVER KNOWN WHAT A MADMAN HE'D BECOME WHEN HE BECAME PRESIDENT IN JANUARY OF 2001
NOW HOWEVER WE THE CITIZENS OF THE U.S. MAY TRULY FEEL THE WRATH AND HATRED OF THE ENTIRE WORLD AS WELL. NOW THEY TOO MAY HATE US (THE CITIZENS OF THE U.S.A. TOO).
WILL THEY BOYCOTT OUR PRODUCTS EVENTUALLY (OVER THE NEXT FOUR YEARS?) WILL THEY BOYCOTT OUR TECHNOLOGY? WILL THEY PUT TARIFFS ON OUR EXPORTS ETC. OVER THE NEXT FOUR YEARS?
IT SADDENS ME DEEPLY TO SEE WHAT A DISGRACEFUL ACT OUR CITIZENS APPEAR TO HAVE DONE IN REELECTING GEORGE W. BUSH.
OUR FOREFATHERS WOULD SURELY BE SHEDDING TEARS AS WE SPEAK IF THEY COULD WITNESS WHAT GEORGE W. BUSH HAS DONE TO THIS ONCE (PREVIOUSLY) GREAT COUNTRY.

Nov. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden said he is trying to bankrupt the U.S. through its war on terror, a strategy he says felled the Soviet Union two decades ago in Afghanistan, according to a translation by al-Jazeera television of his full, videotaped statement. "
If Bush wins election I predict massive world-wide protests
on or before inauguration day. Impeachment will become the number one agenda for half of this country. Bush is by far the most incompetent and reckless President in American history.
If Bush wins it will clearly be time to take it to the streets and to the foot steps of Congress and demand impeachment.
Nixon was about to be impeached if he didn't resign over crimes of burglary. Clinton went through impeachment proceedings for lying about oral sex he received in the oval office. Clinton and Nixon look like the Pope compared to George W. Bush. Thousands upon thousands of humans have died directly because of Bush's war based at it's very essence on lies and deceit. Bush is impeachable on so many grounds though that Iraq is just the tip of the iceberg in my opinion. If reelected the drum beat for impeachment will grow louder and louder daily and more and more evidence will come to light and make it impossible for the NEO CONs in congress to ignore the fact that they have not been doing their job. They will have no choice but to draft articles for impeachment in time.
All my opinions,
J.O.
